It’s a wonderful day, is it not? Everyone, everywhere trying to trick people into believing things that aren’t actually real. I remember in kindergarden, when I was five, one of the older kids who were ‘TAing’ for our class (during our nap time of all times…what the hell were they supposed to be doing?) scared the shit out of me when she told me I had a spider on my shoulder. Like seriously…who does that to a five year old kid who had just woken up from a nap? I was devastated! That single event may have changed my life forever.
Well that was 1990. Its 2008 now and not much has changed. We do have the internet, and that gives people all over the world a chance to mess with our minds. Now I was able to get an advanced notice of youtube doing the whole rickrolling thing, and I pretty much picked up on BBC’s flying penguin story and IGN’s Zelda movie trailer. What really got me though…what gave me that flashback of when I was five and thought a giant spider was gonna bite my head off, was this stupid thing at losanjealous.com. I seriously hung up on the person I was talking to cause I thought I was about to embark on a long, arduous journey to obtain these tickets. For that couple of seconds before I clicked on the link from the main page, I was ready to do anything to get those tickets. Sigh..
In all honesty though, April Fools Day is pretty sweet and I look forward to more trickery throughout the day. We’re also supposed to pinch people for not wearing green or something like that..right?
Check out the Zelda trailer though…you know it’s inevitable.
