I’ve been really into the solo dreamy/R&B kind of projects lately. How to Dress Well and Julianna Barwick started it for me, James Blake appeared soon after, and I’m sure plenty more I’m not aware of yet. One of those artists I had been unaware of is Chad Valley. The alter ego of Oxford’s Hugo Manuel, Chad Valley has that ambient, somewhat ethereal kind of pop music that I think has evolved out of the good ‘ol chillwave movement from the last few years.
