I have no idea what to make of a name like Just a number 05272011. It’s definitely weird. But “He Didn’t Want a Love Song” sounds like it’s sung by The Knife/Fever Ray vocalist Karin Dreijer Andersson. And that’s enough for me to give it a listen. More Swedish bands! They’re everywhere these days aren’t they? Deservedly so, I guess, as is evident by this Light Vibes song “Wish We Had”. It’s also another summery-vibed song. Funny how you can kind of tell it’s that time by what’s being released. (via IGIF)

I got Cults‘ first release on Forest Family Records. I liked it. I then saw them live, and have to admit I wasn’t too impressed. I do like their music though, and this new song, “Make Time”, is no exception. Here’s to hoping they grow as a band (they will) and their live show will grow with them (it probably already has). Who doesn’t want to hear a new James Blake song. Well, I guess technically it’s an old James Blake song that’s been reworked by Blake, but that’s besides the point. He’s a musical genius when it comes to dubstep, and while this new version of “Give a Man a Rod” isn’t quite as melodic as the stuff from his albums, it’s still worth a listen. (via Fader)
